Final reflection

All things considered, I have to say senior project was successful. I wish I could say it was a relaxing fun week but honestly it was a stressful grind for me trying to log hours for senior project while juggling my capstone project. This is now my fifth paper written in the last thirty six hours with a total page tally of 18 if you count these three. I do not mean to sound negative when writing this though. I was able to learn a lot from the experience both from admissions and from my capstone. And to add from that I learned how difficult being an event coordinator can be especially at proctor.  Welp, we finished our first week of senior project. It was a roller coaster ride for us as what we anticipated when signing up for this project was not what it boiled down to be. Back in early spring we created “Senior Baganza” in hopes of getting students out at night having fun on campus. We wanted to do water wars, basketball tournaments, bonfires and much more. As we spent the f...

Day twelve

We started today off with an assembly announcement where Aidan and mitchy declared the green key leaders for next year. After that we went to meet with Alicia from eleven to one. We worked on things to display at express fest. We created some admissions fliers that would be great for fairs and large events like that where it can be handed out.  Todays hours five  Total fifty two Sorry My phone is being weird and I can’t get to the numbers part of my keyboard.

Week 2 reflection

Our second week of senior project went a lot smoother than the first. After teaming up with Alicia our group has been off and running. I will say working with Alicia has worked well for me especially for trying to multitask between senior projects and my capstone project. I have had tremendous hours of work on this capstone project and a large part of me wishes I had just made that my senior project but it is okay because I am getting through it and getting both where they need to be. Alicia has been very helpful though in the sense that she understands there are times I will be free and times I won’t and she makes an effort to figure out when those times are rather than just saying I need you here now, with the assumption that I have nothing better to do. On top of that our project has turned out to be quite enjoyable as well as beneficial. Alicia does a good job of giving us tasks that are suited well for what we are capable of doing in terms of admissions. I say this because ...

Day 11

We had a very good day yesterday. We started it off with a group combining trip to Tuckers with Nora and Alicia. We had a great team meeting about how our projects have been going and other admissions pressing topics. The main goal at lunch was to talk about the green key leaders. After lunch we came back to campus for a regroup in the back of the admissions building. We sat down and narrowed a list from 31 applicants to create this years green key leaders. We then finished off the day working on a little facts sheet about proctor to give to both tour guides and tourists.  Hours for the day: 5 Total: 47

day 10

With the end of baseball season I woke up ready to attack the day with a workout. I met with Botty and Mitchy and we cranked out a good pump. During the workout we received texts from Alicia asking when we would be coming to admissions because she had a lot for us today. It started with her teaching us how to read a neuropsychological evaluation. I can’t say I actually learned much but I tried my hardest to figure it out. We followed that up by looking at what Alecia looks at when evaluating an applicant. We also compared proctors process to other schools processes and the advantages and disadvantages to how we do it. We then ended the day with two tours which were actually more enjoyable due to the tourists entueusiam.  Hours: 5 Project total 42

Day 9

We started the day off with a 10 am tour. We showed the incoming student and his family around until 11:30. We spent the rest of our time before our game and match working on cleaning up the brochures for admissions. After our game we weren’t satisfied with the hours we kicked out so we spend another hour before Aidan’s play rehearsal working on a proposal for the green key party.  Total hours 4

Day 8

We started off today at 10 with various student outreach projects. We created a google form for incoming students to fill out and use to meet other students. This lasted until noon. Then at 1 we picked it up again with a tour. Than ran until 2:30. We ended the day with another 45 minutes of discussing the green key party.   hours 5 Total 32
